- Incoterms. What are they?
Incoterms are the international rules accepted by all governments and by all parties involved in the international transport of goods. They regulate the most common issues used in international trade regarding the delivery of goods (transport, insurance, customs procedures, loading and unloading, etc.) and aim to establish defined criteria on the distribution of expenses and the transfer of risks between two parties, buyer and seller, in an international sale contract.

- Distribution of costs.
One of the functions of the incoterms is to regulate the distribution of the costs that are generated in an international sales contract between the buyer and the seller. The incoterm that is agreed in the sales contract will determine if it is the buyer or if it is the seller who assumes each of the costs. Here is a graphic summary of this general distribution.
As professionals in the sector with many years of experience, we always recommend to our clients the best options on the market and those that, for us and from our long experience in continuous import and export operations, are the most reliable and give the best results. For this reason, in import operations we emphasize the importance of working in FOB (Free On Board), as well as in CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) and CFR (Cost and Freight) in export operations, given the low incidence of risks and the ability to control the process homogeneously, being able to ensure the successful operations without third-party interference or control.
